Some idiot made a thread calling the Denver ATS cover 3 minutes into the game. Denver has a big lead, which they are sure to shit away. GSW has covered their last two 2ndH's when in this same situation.

You could tell the Thuggets weren't even trying during the end of the second on the defensive end, there is no way they play like that in the second half. In addition Melo has been pretty passive so far, I see him being much more aggressive and getting to the line more often.

I see this posted over and over again by various posters, and I still can't make any sense of it. Trying to gauge value in a halftime bet in relation to what it compares to the original line makes no sense at all. If it was just as easy as comparing the sum of the current difference and the halftime spread to the original line then we would all be millionaires betting on sports.

For example let's pretend the total of a game was 200. The teams scored 125 in the first half and the second half total was put out at 98. It just makes no sense to say "ZOMG if you bet the second half over you are betting over 223 for the game. Who in their right mind would bet over 223 for this game"

A second half bet is just that, it's a second half bet. Trying to derive value from comparing it to the original line is just common gambler's fallacy.
