YTD 2nd Half Point Spreads of +4.5 Or Greater
Someone told me that they were pretty sure that teams that were +4.5 or greater (+5, +5.5 etc) hit at a pretty good rate, so I went ahead and ran the numbers for this year.

I know it's only this year, but these teams are 136-113 (54.62%). I haven't applied any filters, this is just raw numbers.

I know people are going to say, one year doesn't mean shit, but I just wanted to let people know if they're interested.

I'm also doing the same thing for NCAA, but since there are so many games it's taking FOREVER since I'm doing it by hand.

From the start of the NCAA season, to Nov 21 (about 1 week) the +4.5 teams are 61-73 (45.52%) so maybe I'll consider fading these teams.

If I go back in previous years, it'll probably even out at about 50%, but I'm not sure yet.

I finished the 2008-2009 NBA season, and the results were what I expected.

    210-202 (50.9%)

Yeah, I was hoping to find something useful, but unfortunately it was pretty much a waste of a day.

Go to sportsoptions.com and you can do a free trial for a week (don't worry no credit card info needed), and once you do that you go to "archives" and then "lines" and then you can pick "game, "1st half, or "2nd half" as well as choose whatever sportsbook you want the lines from and the dates and all that.

It's actually pretty cool. I was looking for something like this, and someone told me about it so that's the only reason I know.
