Boston is the play here i think. Lakers will play well but i like Boston to pull it out.The Celtics need this road trip to go well and will put up a good performance tonight. The Lakers have played well without Kobe but that ends tonight. This will be a good testing game for the Lakers, but Boston needs this game more.

If this game goes down to the wire as this +3.5 spread seems to suggest, then Celtics is the play. They have a closer in Pierce and the Lakers don't. But I don't see the C's hanging in this one late when it gets to the fourth. Agreed. I think that a big factor to the Lakers success without Kobe was that the Lakers play a significantly different game without him. Not true of every team when a star goes down, but being the Lakers, they had the talent to modify their approach which gave their opponents something they weren't expecting. Nothing would surprise me here. Same is true of the other game tonight, which I think is too tough to call. (Forced to make a pick I'd take Denver.)
Both teams have something to prove in the Laker game, but if the Lakers can put this game away they will have proved the most. They can take care of a top flight team without their pretty-boy ball hog.
I'd love to see the line go to -3 or -2.5. -3.5 to -4.5 can be problematic if it's a nail biter.Comment
