Hinrich to the Lakers???

There's only one day remaining before the trade deadline, and it looks as though the Lakers will not be a major player in the market.

The Times' Mike Bresnahan reported that talks about possibly acquiring Chicago Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich were at a "stalemate." Bresnahan wrote: "The Bulls want to part with Hinrich's contract (two more seasons after this for a total of $17 million), but they will take back only expiring contracts. The Lakers, definitely conscious of how far they are over the luxury tax, have an expiring contract of note in Adam Morrison ($5.3 million) but they want the Bulls to also take Sasha Vujacic, who has one more season at $5.5 million."

It'd be a nice pickup for the Lakers. Hinrich could replace Derek Fisher long term...maybe even now.

I think with Boston making the move to get Nate Robinson and Cleveland picking up Antawn Jamison the Lakers have to get this deal done. If they get Hinrich they can move Fisher to the bench. Once Kobe comes back you could have Odom, Fisher and Brown coming off the bench. That's eight deep potentially. Eight QUALITY guys.

Yeah, and the Cavs have about 14.

Fisher is minimally helpful at this point in his career and I'm still not sold on Brown. I'm not sure how he'll do against the top teams.

Haven't heard this rumor bewfore, had no clue Hinrich was getting paid so much either.

I like him a little bit he will be okay under phil but he takes too many shots when he should pass up the shot but i guess thats what happens when u play under a newer coach on a average team. Teams would have to respect his shot which could give the lakers some advantages in key moments.

They dont need noone except to get rid of fisher but they will win it all this year

It would be a nice trade to pull off. To say they need it "badly" is an exaggeration. At the kind of money Hinrich is making their will be more talented guys to come along and guys who fit better them Hinrich. Because of his cap number the risk might not be worth the reward.

Oh definitely, Hinrich's contract sucks. However, if the Lakers are concerned with winning the title this year, they need to make a move for a PG and Hinrich seems to be the only available option. Well, unless you want Earl Watson.

They won it last season with the same Pg's they have now. With 2 of the 3 being better this season then last. It would help to get another point, but it's not do-or-die for their championship hopes.
