#2Hate it because the Hawks are my preferred NBA team this is just how it goes in baseball and basketball teams basically buy championships, but more power to them either you can beat them or you can't.Comment -

Yup, just in time for the big free agent year too. I just don't see them being able to attract any of them, regardless of cap space.Comment -

#16Here's a trade I made on the NBA Trade Machine
76ers get rid of Iggy, they have been shopping him for months
Houston gets rid of McGrady
76ers get a real scoring point guard, and Eddie Jordan gets his old PG to run his system.
Washington gets expiring contracts.

#17McGrady wont play this year. No one wants him unless he plays for free. The kid is a loser he got his money he doesnt care and Houston was smart to fukk him like they way did.I hope he never plays again i hate him.Comment -

#19Its an expiring deal. If you are in a salary dump situation those type of contracts are a godsend.Originally posted by lakerboyMcGrady wont play this year. The kid is a loser he got his money he doesnt care and Houston was smart to fukk him like they way did.I hope he never plays again i hate him.He will play again. Too talented. Besides contracts are guaranteed in the NBA so someone is going to pay him the remaining 80 mill on his contract.Originally posted by THEGREAT30Arenas will play again when? #20When you think about it, this trade would make the Celtics incredibly versatile. Butler can play multiple positions, Jamison can as well and Doc can get creative with his line-ups, giving them a huge edge with their second unit. Chemistry has to be a question mark for sure but if they can figure it out before the playoffs, they'd have a great shot at another title.
The trade makes sense. I hope it happens...
Lakerboy, if it does happen, we'll get to see just what kind of coach Doc Rivers is. He'll have a lot to do with their success, or lack thereof. I lean towards 'pretty good coach' mostly because I thought it would be tough to win a championship in year one of having a completely restructured team but they did it. I think Doc deserves a lot of credit for that. We'll see what happens...Comment -

#23No longer would that team play any defense, and that's their overall edge.
Even with that sum of parts they are not better than the Lakers on paper.Comment -

Is that really true? Allen is hardly a defensive force and Jamison isn't either but the core of that defense is exactly the same. Jamison and Butler are not going to march into Boston and change the way that team plays. Thibodeau is one of the best, if not the best, defensive coaches in the league and with Garnett, Perkins and Rondo leading the way defensively, I don't see them losing there defensive mentallity.
We don't know how good they would be because we haven't seen them play yet but they look pretty good on paper. You be the judge:
Pierce - Bryant
Garnett - Gasol
Rondo - Fisher
Butler - Artest
Perkins - Bynum
Jamison - Odom
Wallace - Walton
Davis - Mbenga
Daniels - Farmar
House - Brown
T. Allen - Powell
Scalabrine - VujacicComment -
