Are you bored and got nothing better to do this All-Star weekend? Let's see how good your capping skills are. I know there are a lot of good cappers on here on SBR forum, and this thread will somewhat test your abilities to cap the games scheduled on Feb. 16.

This thread is just for sh*ts and giggles, but I have something different in mind. This could be a useful basis for future tails because I will probably tail the guy who comes closest to predicting the caps and the O/U for all of these games, that to me, is a tale tell sign that the guy knows his sh*t. I know for a fact that I'm somewhat clueless at some games, and whn in doubt, I'll just follow "THE" guy.

For all those who's interested on how they stand at capping games, be advise that you can cap the teams at their full strength, or you can equate injuries that are of prior public knowledge, use your best judgment.

There are 10 games scheduled for Tuesday, here they are and take your best shot.

Most are in unison that the Nets game against the Cats will be in this vicinity (186-189), while the picks are split for the Jazz/Rockets game. The Celtics are the solid favs (-3 to -5.5), but the predictions for O/U for this game is between 193 to 205, a very wide 12 point disparity. It's probably because it will be a game of teams from opposite poles; a young, run-and-gun team playing at home against a veteran (I hate to say word old! ) , playing controlled basketball. The points total will be dictated by whoever controls the pace for the most part of the game.

I may be way off on the Mavs being a big dog (+8), but that's just me showing how I see the Mavs team right now. There's no fight in them at this moment. They're soft both offensively and defensively. Good thing is Mark Cuban is trying to do something about it before the Feb. 18 deadline. They are are close to a major trade that would send forward Caron Butler, center Brendan Haywood and guard DeShawn Stevenson to Dallas for forwards Josh Howard and Drew Gooden and guard Quintin Ross. Anything different at this point for the Mavs is a good thing...

I do enjoy seeing the predictions from others on this card, however... Any capper that's worth anything is making his plays based not only on his own preditions, but more importantly on how they compare to the actual lines available. I can pretty much guarantee that at least a few of my predictions above will change when I see what the books provide. Being able to replicate lines is far less important than picking out the rogue lines to exploit...

Generating lines that correspond with what the opening lines is a VERY different task than generating fair/true lines for the matchups...
