Looking to place a few units on Cavs -5 1 Quarter but nets have been known to stick around at least for the first half... Thoughts?

#3Five is a lot in one quarter. However, they have been absolutley dominating in the first quarter lately. Personally, I wouldn't lay the 5 in the first quarter of any game.Comment -

#4I would much rather take the over in the first quarter than the -5.Comment -

#5My local's vig on ANY 1st quarter action is too pricey for me (115), and that's preventing me to lay any bets,
but if this 49.5 points going over is almost a sure thing, I wouldn't mind throwing some loose coins here.
Any thoughts williams22? I appreciate your take on this...Comment -

#8Lakerfan, if I had to make a choice I would take the -5, Cleveland lately likes to jump on teams for the start Knicks 44-24, Memphis 28-16, Clipper 46-20, you get Lebron for almost 10 minutes of the period, New Jersey is terrible team and compound it with being on the road against the best team in the east take the 5... it's more likely a hit than the 49, because I'm not confident New Jersey can score.Comment -

#9I just checked the Nets' injury report, not that the Cavs
need all the help they can get for this game, just saying...
Chris Douglas-Roberts -- Day-to-Day (back spasms)
Devin Harris --Day-to-Day (shoulder injury)
Jarvis Hayes -- Day-to-Day (bruised heel)
Yi Jianlian --Day-to-Day (sore shoulder)
Bobby Simmons -- Day-to-Day (personal)Comment -

- Cleveland is 2nd in the league in 1st quarter scoring at with with 29.0 ppg
- New Jersey averages 21.4 ppg in the 1st quarter on the road
- Cleveland gives up an average of 25.0 ppg in the first quarter, which is 15th in the league, they are no lower than 5th for any of the other 3 quarters
Why is this? A lot of it has to do with JJ Hickson being on the court. While he has improved defensively, he's still their weak link. The first quarter is the only time he gets a significant chunk of minutes. The Cavs also come out loose on D and tighten up as the game goes on. I'm expecting something like a 34-26 1st quarter here.Comment -

#12CAVS-NETS:
Cavs -5 1q
OVER 1H
UNDER 2H
Nets +16 for game
1q is placed, the over is tempting indeed but the score could easily hit 16-31 , 20-28 in 1q. So if nets hits 22 then it should be catchiiing!. Never backing nets is a good motto and gonna stick with it, think however they cover on this one..

Thnx for the heads up!
I knew the Cavs play loosely in the 1h, run and gun and all that pizzaz, then try to tighten up their D in the 2h, BUT, if all of the Nets players I posted above won't play today, do they still get to 24? Or even 20??? I already laid a bet on the half, Cavs at -9, and I'll just probably lay off on this one and just watch and enjoy the game!Comment -
