That's what happens when you sell your soul to the devil. They traded a great core of young players for a crop of aging players to win a title (aka save Danny Ainge's job).
Everyone should have known the 3rd or 4th year would be the last year of potential glory. They won a title and had a great shot last year. Now their older players are constantly looking like 40 year old journeymen who stuck around too long. Has nothing to do with a lack of heart, they just have too many miles in their rotation. KG being the prime example. Lewis and Bynum just blow by him with ease. That wasn't even possible 15 months ago. And now Doc needs to start putting a help defender on his weak side. Incredible.

Wouldn't say they are overrated. They are a good squad just getting old in age.
My Lakers 1st half bet is going to be close.

wtf u guys talking about they still have one of the best records in the nba, they're in a slump right now but they will come out of it, i dont think they will win the championship but they will probably reach the eastern comf final atleast
they will get in form and in shape at exactly the right time
and imo what they did 3 years ago was very smart, they have the young talent, they have the veterans that bring experience, calmness, confidence and leadership to the team and they got a championship which they and the fans needed
betting wizard i am guessing you put money on the celtics right?

that is retarded....it would have been a shame if it didnt work out....but they won a title...and with the success the pats and sox were having...they needed to do something....this team is still an elite team....and the title alone was worth the deals

I would Love to say they are done as I am huge Laker fan and Boston Hater, but they still have a shot to come out of the East. With that being said this team got their one ring and that's it. I was so happy when they let James Posey get away, he would have been the Robert Horry of their dynasty. They remind me of the 04 Lakers with GP and Malone they will hit a wall in May or June

All I gotta say is Ray Allen is 2-9 and 0-5 from downtown and Doc Rivers draws up a 3 to win a 1 point game? I would of had Tony Allen taking it and it wouldnt of been no 3 either they would not of double teamed him and he played great all afternoon if it wasnt for him LA would of ran away with it after the first. Doc Rivers is an ass clown.

What are you talking about? I said it DID work out, just wasn't longterm and it's hurting them far too quick. In a war of attrition, every marquee team is outplaying them when it counts. This is only the THIRD season for the Big 3! They are struggling already and I think it will be a quick exit for them in May.
KG is missing games left and right and he isn't half the defender he once was (not to mention, he has no more spring in his jumps). Pierce was having problems. Sheed just came back, and he looks terrible from my vantage. Ray is streaking off and on way too much.
They weren't guaranteed to win with the youth they traded for Allen and KG, but they'd be in a more competitive state. Ironically (or is it), their YOUTH sparked the 2nd quarter comeback. Sheed was the only guy out there over 30.
Oh and the Pats/Bruins thing is very much moot. The only pressure on the Celtics in the city Boston was on Rivers and Ainge. Their job was saved by these acquisitions.
