Without a doubt. Assuming that the gun was not loaded (as is reported), if he spends any jail time it will be worse than Plaxico. At least Plax COULD have hurt someone else with his loaded weapon. Gilbert could no more hurt someone with an unloaded gun than he could with his cell phone.
Too many irrational fears associated with guns in this country right now.

Yes he should be allowed back. He is already being forced to plead guilty to a felony, that is enough punishment considering he didn't hurt anyone.

Yes, The NBA should put him on probation also, so if he messes up in anyway again he will be punished severely and he should be required to do community service programs for the NBA. All sports leagues need to crack down harder on guys who continue to break laws.

Not this season.

If it was really not loaded, then i think next season he should be allowed back.. But, kinda on a probation period.. Where if he fukks up again, then he's out for good..

My guess is the NBA is asking themselves what they would have to do if Rasheed Wallace, Allen Iverson, Dennis Rodman, or a member of the Portland Trailblazers brought a gun into their arena. If it comes to light that someone more unstable was packing they'd have to let him back in as well.
I'll set the OU at a one year ban for Arenas.

No, but I don't know the severity of the firearms violations. Guns are no joke and should be punished to the fullest extent of the law, especially when using it in a threat. Letting him back also sends the wrong image for the NBA, but might be the right wrong image to take "our" eyes off the rigged refs.

He serves his punishment and then comes back, just as Vick did. At least he didnt hurt anyone/anything.

What if there were a snapping of fingers that broke the hypnosis?

He should definitely be allowed back after he serves his suspension. He should be able to come back next year.

yes, he broke some laws and had killing weapons in his lockeroom. Sprewell broke some laws, actually USED his hands as a killing weapon and he was allowed back in.
