Yea right, at least thats what two told me on this forum earlier in the week, I make alot of money on teasers, had I not teased the spread and total for Jazz/Cavs, I wouldnt have won my parlay. Cheers.

Or you could've just picked Utah straight up and the under and had pretty much the same odds, but a way higher payout.

And wouldnt have felt comfortable doing so, I make the spread work for me, not the other way around.

I am constantly telling people on here that parlays are for suckers. Because they are! There is a difference though between parlays and teasers. That said, teasers are for suckers too. I will occasionally do a two team teaser though. They are only kinda for suckers lol. You are getting 1:1 odds but you are doubling your chance to lose. Yeah i know you get a few points but more often than not teasers and parlays are lost on a fluke which falls outside the window of a teaser.

Hitting a teaser is not the same thing as hitting a parlay. When you bet a parlay you are usually getting some kind of a price. 2.6 to one on a two-team parlay, 6 to 1 on a three-team parlay etc.

You have to win both sides of a teaser and in the example you cited you are laying odds--not getting them.

In football you have to hit about 70% of your teasers just to break even. I would imagine (but I'm not sure) that it would be similar in basketball. I have no idea how you're doing, but are you hitting 70%? Tough to do.

In football, there are situations where you can hit about 75% of your teasers going across both key numbers of 3 and 7.

But what are the key numbers in basketball?

No threshold for basketball games since you can win by one point, although many games dont end with a one point difference. You can win by one point in football also, but I do cross the 7 and 3 point marks in football when I tease. My thing with basketball is that I tease on my supposed probabilities of outcomes. I dont tease often though mostly I tease to double digits when I do just to make myself feel as comfortable as possible, I dont go by payouts too much either, which may not be too smart, but I rather "insure myself, (at least in my mind) a victory first".

Teasers are good for football but also I use them as an alternative instead of paying a big price to buy points for hoops. They can be useful when you play John Morrison's NBA and NFL systems.
