I was just trying to give insight into two of the games tonight to help people get a better feel for the matchup and make a more educated/informed pick. I can care less about internet "fame".

the NBA season - it's kinda like a roller coaster ride with short to big climbs, slight to steep downhills, a few straight aways, several sharp turns and throw in a tunnel or two which translates to this guys and gals.....investment wagering on sports is a marathon, not a sprint. what matters is the bottom line at the end of the season. A good starting bankroll balance to begin and strict money management along the way are key to showing a profit in the end. very few play by these rules and in turn pay "the man".

I can't speak for SJ. Let's not state the obvious anymore. I never said to use the logic, "teams r due" to cap games. Maybe it's the law of averages. The magic have been under like 8-10 games. Most likely due to poor shooting %s. Now u can guess that they have one more poor shooting night and bet the under. Or u can " think the teams r due" to have fairly good fg%s tonight and bet the over. Your guess is as good as mine and peeps can prob make strong arguments about one way or another.

i know im new to handicapping but it be willing to wager that those circles dont make money, and if they do, this is probably at the bottom of their list of things to take into consideration... if when the nets were 2 and 20, or whatever, and kept betting they were due for a W... man id hate to be that guy LOL

i know the nets are not even close to the caliber of team that the magic and celts are, i was just trying to compare how (from my understanding) that betting on spreads or teams because they are due, is a bad way to handicap. like i said im new to this, and have not been studying it for an extended amount of time, but it seems that handicapping has more to do with odds, spreads, numbers than it has to do with what teams should win, and why, or are due for a win or a cover.. am i wrong?

i used the exaggerated example to help illustrate my point. just because its an exaggeration between the two teams does not mean that the same concept does not correlate. but i dont want to clog up LB's thread any more, if you want to further debate it we can take it to pms or start a new thread

Yes in a sense but I am not just playing it because I think "they are due". Vegas has gotten burnt several times with the under in this matchup and the two teams also lately. I am playing it because of the way Vegas has responded to the total with with the pubic pounding the under. The line comes up at a reasonable 187 and the public consensus is on the under obviously. So, how does Vegas respond to this? They raise the total not the least bit scared about the public consensus on the under to entice more unto the under. They not only raise the total a point or two but 2.5 points. This my freinds is the definition of a trap.

Stop being so ignorant and not reading into my pick, I don't just say "hey they've gone under ten games in a row, time for an over." I could have never gotten to over 30 games above .500 with that line of thinking. Yes I am cold lately and this game will probably go under by 15 points but who has been hot lately in the NBA.
