Orlando vs. Washington
Orlando enters tonight’s game on a 3-game losing streak, and the Magic are in desperate need of a win. And they catch the perfect opponent at the right time as the Wizards are a team in total disarray right now because of the Gilbert Arenas fiasco. They’ve won five straight in this series with all five wins coming by 9 points or more. Their average win has come by a whopping 15.6 points per game. With the Magic in need of a big, confidence building win and the Wizards going through the Arenas nonsense, this game turns into a blowout. Orlando is 51-24 ATS after a SU loss the past three seasons and they also fit a solid 32-11 ATS situation which plays on quality road favorites off back-to-back losses.
Orlando-7.5
Lakers vs. Portland
The Lakers offense isn’t hitting on all cylinders right now. They’ve scored 91 and 88 points in their last two games while only shooting 41.8% (69-165) from the field. And they’ve also shot horribly from three-point land hitting just 28.1% (9-32) from beyond the arc. Their offense just has no flow right now, and a major reason for it is the absence of Pau Gasol. Without him on the floor, Los Angeles’ offense is quite predictable as its Kobe Bryant taking the majority of the shots. But Kobe re-injured his fractured right index finger in their last game, and his effectiveness tonight is in question because he won’t be able to be the primary ball handler as he usually is. Portland is off a couple of bad defensive performances; the Blazers allowed 105 and 109 points in their last two games. And off those bad efforts,i expect Portland to bounce back with a strong defensive game tonight. They match-up well with the Lakers as they’ve held them to just 98 and 94 points in their last two meetings on their home floor.
