williams, are we doing this on a monthly basis or keeping a running total..

personally i think it will be better to do it by month.. this will not only make it easier on you but also keep the interest level up for those (like me) who got off to a rough start with this "best bet" thread.

i asked this before, and got no response.. any thoughts on this?

I was under the assumption to keep a running total. I think your argument could go both ways. I should be towards the top, but if it just restarts after a month then what interest do I have in this? I put in my best plays and it gets wiped clean after a month. Just giving you another side to this.

I like the running total way better than wiping it clean every month. Im not looking for whos doing good every now and then, I was also under the impression this would be used to see who is consistent over a long period. Nobody's gonna care if you go 2-10 to start, everyone will notice when you pull it back to 24-15 or whatever. Anyway GL everyone!!

how about putting a link (to the prior month's records) in each day's thread? that would keep your record intact and keep the interest level up for the people who haven't done well to start..

you could always take pride in being at (or near) the top every month

i'm not trying to get a prize.. or give one. i am trying to find a way to keep people interested in this thread if they aren't doing well.. and if someone starts terrible (or starts well and fades a bit) they will lose interest.

the point of this thread is to get "best bets". It doesn't matter HOW you get your plays.. statistical analysis, trends, gut feeling, it doesn't matter.

This isn't going to be reset each month. I could potentially post results for the month at the end of each month, but the records will always be running totals. This thread is not a contest, it is a way to track user's picks to help determine those who are consistently good at NBA handicapping.

On a different note, I'm still on my trip but I have been grading when I get the chance. The next updated records will be posted on Thursday and will continue to be posted each night from then on. Thank you all for being patient with me this week.

Not a problem sir. Sorry, the past few days I've been on the road so I haven't responded as often. I like the idea of posting a monthly leaderboard alongside the full records. Maybe I'll post the top 20 at the end of each month or something.
