Is there any rationale for buying points in NBA?
I understand key numbers in the NFL such as 3 and 7.
Is there anytime you should buy a hook or any points on an NBA line?
Is there key numbers on NBA games?

    Thanks and Happy Betting

I usually just wait until the line becomes favorable. Free points.

I try to play even numbers, just last night when I booked Knicks it was -5, I bought a point to -4 and pushed and was really happy I did. I often buy points and dont need too, a couple times this year I lost by a .5 a point so I am buying them more often. Definitely buy the hook off if you have the option, the lines makers are way sharper at this shit than any of us.

2, 3, and 7 would be the only numbers really worth consideration for doing it. Check the Pinnacle dropdowns if you can and see what those half points buy and sell for in certain games to get a better idea.

            Thanks all,

This is great and useful information.
I heard somewhere that 5 and 8 are also key numbers in the NBA. Not sure how or why.
It seems to unpredictable at the end of a game with free throws and everything, and probably not worth buying points, maybe a hook.

Been playing JM system for years, but starting to alter my game. Buying 3 points just because that's the system is monetary suicide.

I buy the half point on every nba game to make it a whole number. I also bet every nba game to though. I think you have to stay consistent on whether or not you want to buy the half a point or not. If you go and buy the half a point on just some of the games than u r just hoping the 1/2 point will work out for you in that particular game and guessing what game u will need that 1/2 a point is highly unlikely overtime. The most recent example that comes to me is the suns@ Trailblazers game where the suns were getting +2 1/2 and i bought a half a poiint to make it +3 and tied. The only thing that u have to keep track of is the juice line in the spread. I went 29-23 last week starting on monday. My average juice line was -107 on my winners using BetPhoenix, matchbook and a local bookie who is always behind with his lines thank god for him sometimes. Matchbook really helps me save on the juice, just sucks you can't buy points but that why u need more than 1 bookie. Hope this helps.
