Faith in numbers NBA season thread

Been putting in some work and using my own formula for picking games.
Looking to track how I would do just picking my best plays.
I post all my plays with dollar amounts, will usually have only one or two plays a day.

I'll start my thread with a winner tonight on:

Not how I wanted to start at 1-2 but won my big play so I broke even.

Tonight I like a big play on Charlotte (-2) LOSE. I bought a hook at -120 so risking $240 to win $200.

Not sure how smart this is buying the hook, I am not too versed on these issues.
If anyone has input on this I would like to hear about when you should by a hook in basketball.
Football is obvious but not so sure about hoops.

Still pissed from last night and that poor excuse for a team in Chicago, another poor excuse of a team is Detroit.
I am 0-2 betting on Detroit, maybe I can make up by fading them. Not in love with the line on Charlotte so I bought it down 1.5 points.
