    NBA Card 12/15/2009 ++ Underdogs
Guys, I have been looking over the card since last nite and must admit I love the dogs tonite. Funny thing is I am not generally a underdog kinda player except for nice spots on occasions. The only undergod I am terrified of is Chicago +10, but with so much public on Lake Show and the weird feel I have about the game it wouldn't shock me if Chicago covered this spot. Quite honesetly Taking LA Lakers -10 looks like some easy money, but in my experience it usually is not. Guys be brutally honest with me. Am I missing something here? Why am I loving the dogs on this card?? Since last nite the dogs have gotten a more attractive price as well. Someone tell me I have lost my mind or what your thoughts are? Thanks!

Home Dogs are the way to go.

Bulls + is a good bet, especially with Kobe hampered(finger INJ).

Food for thought though.... Stay as far away from public backed Dogs as you can.

Gotcha! Would you explain more? Are you talking about a good team catching points, or a dog getting alot of public action?

Dogs getting a lot of public action.

Spurs are a good team catching points, but they are facing a team that has a great home record. Them being Dogs is expected. The catch in that game is the fact that Leandro is hurt, and was a big part of them amassing their great record.

Dogs that catch alot of love are the wrong side. Rather you should just watch the line move down in the Favorites favor, and get the cheap line on the favorite. A good example will be tonite in CBB: Saint Marys opened as a 15.5 fav. The line is now moving down to -14 with the whole world on the Dog(Port St.) I will be playing Saint Marys once I sense the line has hit a wall, and starts to move back up.

I see and you make a good point. I always try to play good numbers as well. It makes a difference over the course of a long season. I don't always get a good number, but i try. Do you see all that steam on the NBA totals right now? Big money are moving the totals as I type.

Yep and it is making the Spurs/Suns O/U First half even more tasty for an UNDER play. I will jump on it later in the day, as the public sets the line.

So do I. As I see both having a real shot to win S/U. Miami has sucked donkey balls lately, especially at home. Toronto has played some good games there in the past. Detroit has played good ball lately and Houston I think has been overachieving all year. Houston will be without Ariza tonite due to suspension and I don't think they have enough to cover this spread. Detroit usually plays them close in Hosuton. Detroit in my opinion could easily win this game.

I have Suns -1.5 was -3, I was leanign towards Suns because Spurs looked bad vs LAC at times in that game but still managed to win.

The Spurs were leading by 16, 11, 14 and 26 points (by end of each qtr) in that game. Not sure what would constitute "looking good" in your mind, but leading by at least 11 points the entire game looks pretty good to me.

Yes, I actually like NJ in this spot. CLE is getting -15.5 with my gov't run outfit which I think is way too many points, well maybe not WAY to many, but enough for a NJ cover. CLE is playing tomorrow as well and may want to save a bit of gas for that game.
NJ has been blown out it's last 2 on the road so tread lightly.

Arguably some of the best advice you'll see on this forum. For example, Detroit is getting a lot of action, and yet the line moved against them up to +5. Despite initially liking the Pistons, this became an auto play on Houston for me.

Yes. I am in agreement pretty much with TGoat's plays.

My favorite totals and were I booked them.

                                          Detroit/Houston under 189 1/2
                                          Sacramento/Portland over 200 1/2
                                          Toronto/Miami under 206

Not crazy about any of the three, but I have action on all 3 for 1 unit a piece.

The Miami line makes no sense... I think the Kings can pull a win... And can Houston can it done without Ariza? I mean Hamilton is back and Houston is still the favorite without Ariza?

any thoughts on the char/ny total? i was initially leanig char but 196 seems rather low based on ny lack of defense and the fact char offensive improvements have been flying under the radar. even though char home defense is outstanding i could see them willing to run with the knicks a little 2night

I am leaning in your direction, but I am so mixed about this game I have no action on either the side or total. I like your thoughts and they very well might materialize the way you see it. Last time they played a similar paced team in Denver at home they went over that number. You might have something.

I know exactly what you are saying and I feel the same way. However, I bit. If I have been had then so be it. I usually have my guard up more slanted towards the favorite because I play more chalk than dogs usually. For instance... That Laker's line scares me.. I don't care if Kobe is hurt, sick or doesn't play all together I think the line looks fishy. The whole laying 10pts to me on the road means nothing in some spots and this is one of them. The Lakers on paper cover this easy with or without Kobe. Nobody is playing worse basketball than the Bulls at the moment and that includes New Jersey Nets.

After saying all that I am not playing the Lakers. I can't do it. It looks to easy based on the way Chicago has been playing. The bookies I know are not fools. If I was a bookie I probably would have lined the opening at -12 1/2 - -13 1/2 Lakers.... Not -9 like they did. Think about it.... It's the Lakers. The bookies could put out just about any number in the world above the one they used and yet they decided to use -9??? Sometihng tells me Chicago covers here. Who knows? In the end I might be reading too much into it.
