A question for you Wilforth? I dont bet anything but full games. How do you determine this bet? It does look like the right play.

I understand why a lot of guys stay away from 1Q and 1H plays but with good knowledge of certain teams, such plays are good. I don't have the stats at the top of my head but there are 2 teams in the NBA that are 1Q ATS machines in home games especially when going into such games on at least 24 hours' rest. They're:

      Detroit
      Phoenix

Try to observe these teams for a while and you'll come to the same conclusion. I believe Detroit will win the 1Q by more points than they'll win the game!

DET are 1Q ATS machines? They're 6-4-1 in 1Qs at home this year, with an average point differential of 1.7pts. That's nothing special, ranking them around 11-12th.

Boston -3 (1Q) is also looking like a good play from what I know about Boston and Chicago in their respective roles today.

Thanks for pointing that out. That's why I specified at least one condition under which they're a 1Q machine - that they're going into a game on at least 24 hours rest. One also has to apply certain filters. For instance, I wouldn't play Detroit 1Q against a team like Boston, who can always explode on the road in the 1Q.

Rip is also back, which adds a little excitement in the 1Q for Detroit.

                      0-1

                      Turned out a bad pick.
