Thought long and hard about hedging my Utah -4 with Lakers +1.5 at half. It's looking like it might have been a good idea. About the only thing I've done right all day.

Thanks to everyone in here for your insights. With your help, and a hot streak with my baseball system, I've doubled my bank in the last two weeks with a 1% unit size. So even after a terrible day today, I'm still ahead in the long run. Three months ago I'd probably be flat broke right now.

Yeah, I hear you. That happened to me 2yrs ago during the AFL. 13 straight bets - all losers. Worst teams in the league winning miraculous games, teams not covering by a point. I honestly thought I was being paid back for something I did in a past life. Just try to ride it out and resist the urge to chase. When I've been in a slump, even the bets that 99 out 100 were the most confident about just couldn't hit. I think it's the Gambling Gods' way of keeping us humble and warning us about the perils of getting greedy.

Preach woman, Preach!!! I have made a bad situation 10x worse trying to chase lost money. When I take a bad hit in the ass on early games, I just fold the tent, say uncle and hit it again the next. It takes the emotion out of it all. Even better is to employ smart money management and NEVER risk more than 10% of your roll in any one day. If you fork over 10% in less than 24 hrs....stop. Get the emotion out, re-tool then hit it later with the same no more than 10% per day rule. It will come back...more importantly it will keep the desperate from royally screwing the pooch
