brakon last night based his play of the raptors on the fact that the bobcats had the second worst straight up road record in the league. they were catching 6 points last night. looking at their straight up road record was pointless. this is a team that always fights under brown and catching a decent amount of points (and knowing their road/dog ats results) made them an attractive play if you studied the ats figures.

if you dont look at ats stats, what do you use when capping a game? not at all saying its the only thing to look at - but one should pay attention to a teams ats results in certian spots (like the bobcats last night). straight up records mean nothing unless you play moneylines.

i like to focus on ats results of a team when laying -10+ or catching 10+ etc etc....

if i see that the twolves are 4-1 ats when +10 or >, and the lakers are 0-4 when -10 or >, and the lakers on back to back etc etc....i would take a deep look at a wolves play.

yes people should know that you can't win everyday. i have had 1 or 2 losing nights in the last 3 weeks unit wise. even last night i came up ahead 5.7 units. today i am already up 3.9 units with my hits on aforce+4.5 and oky/stan over 54.5.if you see a 1 unit play dont play it.

while teams dont knowingly concern themselves with beating the spread, some well coached/hungry teams (bobcats) tend to cover large numbers because they put in a max effort almost each night....where as uber talented teams like say the lakers, may tend to toy with lesser opponents thus not covering the high spreads that oddsmakers put out there.....food for thought

These numbers dont really tell anything which is why I dont concern myself with ATS hardly any. Ive heard some say in the Think Tank they dont need to follow a sport to bet on it, but I differ in that opinion.
