I just started betting this week on sports games for the first time. I lost the Clevland game against Houston. From what I have seen this week its brutal picking the spread.

Agreed. The favorite team always gets the nod from first time bettors - especially when considering the spread. Watch closely, study matchups, be aware of who's playing and who's not, who's on b2b or possibly strung out from a long road trip. This week alone has seen dogs go 7-1 ATS and 3-0 ATS (Tues & Thurs). Instead of starting out the gate behind a few points, why not get them on your side when in a favorable spot?
I personally like NY +6.5 @ NOH tonight.
