Interesting comments re: Shaq and the Cavs
From Henry Abbott's column on ESPN.com:

Cavaliers Coach Mike Brown experimented with Shaqlessness for a stretch in last night's loss to Toronto. John Krolik of Cavs the Blog writes about a third-quarter lineup of Maurice Williams, Daniel Gibson, Anthony Parker, LeBron James and Anderson Varejao: "The result was some beautiful basketball and a 32-21 quarter for the Cavaliers, who had just looked god-awful up to that point. LeBron had space in the middle of the floor, Mo immediately made his signature dive to the corner for an open three, Parker was banging in open threes, and even Boobie was having a good time. It looked like real basketball for a little while there. (Kurt from the Laker blog Forum Blue and Gold: "Am I a bad person for gloating that Shaq was -25 last night?")

    Thoughts?

It is a fact they where -25 with Shaq on the floor last night. That doesn't mean he was a good addition, but coach Brown has to realize how to use Shaq and the team has to realize when to give Shaq the ball. It is a process and they will be solid by the end of the season, but as of right now with him on the floor he hurts them more than helps them.

It wasn't Shaq's fault they were -25 on the floor. It was MB's fault for having Shaq AND Z on the court at the same time when Toronto got like 15 points off of fast breaks. Who in the hell would put Shaq and Z on the court at the same time??? MB is a dumb ass.

Shaq is playing well and gives Cleveland an interior defender. Z does not fit in at all with the team as he stands around the 3 point line. Danny Ferry needs to ship him out, fast.

Well if it was due to Shaq and Z being on the floor at the same time they both would be -25. Z was -8 not good, but definitely not -25. The team just doesn't know how to play with him yet give them time Mac I know you love your Cavs, but they don't know how to play with Shaq yet. They will get better as the year goes on and be dangerous come playoff time if healthy.

Thanks, this is the kind of info I'm looking for out of this. If Shaq really is a detriment to the team (don't believe he is, just saying), there may be significant value in fading the Cavs for a while.

I say once again, Shaq is not the problem. Mike Brown's lack of offensive knowledge and the absence of Delonte West are the problems. If you aren't a die-hard Cavs fan you probably don't realize how important Delonte is to this team. He's the second most clutch player on the team after Lebron, he plays point when Mo isn't in, and he's a big part of the heart and soul of the team. They need to get him back and playing as soon as possible.
