Is it silly, in your opinion, shoebox, to hit the Celtics ML tonight @ -800. I want to put about $425 on it to make a bit of change (53.13). If it wins, I'd pull a 12.5% profit. Now, I look at this as an investment, and anyone would take 12.5% profit from any other investment. Am I right? A majority of folks don't seem to make plays like this. What say you?

You wouldn't invest to earn a 12.5% return if there was a chance you could lose your entire principal tomorrow would you?

To high for my likings, would rather take the spread or buy it down points wise. To much capitol invested. If 425 is your entire bank roll then bet between 12.75 and 4.25 on the ML. If you win its change in your pocket, if you lose who cares its only a small % of your BR.

Wouldn't be a good investment because all it would take is a bad day for the Celtics and your $425 will all be gone, which would suck considering you were expecting only to win about $53. You're better off doing something like making three $20 bets on spreads, if you win all three bets you'd earn around $45, and worst case scenario you lose $60, but that's far better than losing all $425 just for the chance to win $53.

Take this for what's it's worth from a person who plays mostly money-lines for the various sports, going all in is just dumb - I don't care if it wins, it's just a dumb move. You're an adult, right?, make your own choice but over 99% of seasoned players will tell you that's the call you don't make. if you like BOS tonight at that price, play it for less - build your account slowly, trust me it's how you stay alive. Not trying to be a prick or anything like that, just offering you my opinion on a game/play you were thinking about. Sure hope you didn't do it.

Yes, I lost on wagers with them but one was a parlay and I can tell you I have more then $425 in my accounts and didn't go all in.
