Magic, Knicks Over 182½
Game Time: 3/26/2007 7:35:00 PM -
By: Ben Burns
This is a low posted total given the recent history of these teams, so look for the Knicks and Magic to easily surpass the total this evening.
These teams have faced each other twice this season, with both those games finished below the total.
However, a closer look shows that those games actually averaged 187 points, and the only reason they went Under was that the posted totals were both in the 190s. When these clubs met here at Madison Square Garden last month, the total was set at 195½. Now, five weeks later in the same building, this posted total is roughly two touchdowns lower than the last encounter!
Yes, both teams do bring a streak Unders into tonight's contest, but this total simply offers too much value to pass up. After all, the Magic are still averaging 187.9 points per game for the season, while the Knicks are averaging 198.7 points per contest. Not surprisingly, the Over is 4-1 the last five times that a Knicks game has had an over/under of between 180 and 184½, and the Over is 7-5 in the last 12 Orlando road games with a total in this same range.
These clubs have produced more than 190 points in the last five consecutive head-to-head meetings, and they should be able to at least top the 183-point mark this evening.
