Basketball Parlay of the Day - Sunday, 3/25/07
SBR will give the winner of the March Basketball Parlay of the Day Contest a sparkling new 19-inch LCD DVI Monitor! For those of you unfamiliar with the contest, here are the rules:

Post your 2 best basketball plays each day, NBA and CBB full-game Sides & Totals allowed only, no halves. Same game Side/Total parlays are ok. You have until five minutes before tip time of your first game to post the selections. Also note that all plays will now be graded against a uniform line! I will post the lines from Pinnacle at approximately 11 AM ET each day. Those of you wishing to make selections before then may do so without posting your lines, and they will be graded against my posted lines.

All parlays will be graded as 10.00 to win 26.00, and I will keep two sets of standings: the Official Standings will be based on parlay units won/lost, and the secondary standings will be on a game-by-game basis ranked by winning percentage.

The Catch: You must have SOME ANALYSIS for each play. Only needs to be one sentence, no big deal, although full paragraphs are ok too. Plays submitted with no analysis will NOT COUNT toward standings.

The player with the most units won after the games of March 31 will win the winner-take-all grand prize. Note that you must play at least 15 days (30 plays) during the month to qualify for the prize! In case of a tie in units, the tiebreaker will be the better winning percentage. If still tied, the contest will be extended with the tied players making one parlay selection per day at the start of April until the tie is broken. NO PASSES will be allowed during this extension period, and any of the tied players doing so will be eliminated regardless of the other player(s) results for that day.

    Good Luck to All!

    Fine Print:

1 entry per household and IP address.

Must use lines posted in daily thread by LT Profits

    Tie breakers:
Will be decided by win % of individual parlay legs. 2nd tiebreaker is based on additional daily parlays until one person breaks tie.

15 parlays must be made in the month.

All decisions made by SBR with regards to this contest are final.

SBR will pick a DVI LCD monitor that is features on this page when winner is decided.

      Oregon +7, under GU-UNC 140

Ducks can score from outside, so they will take a lot of 3's to combat the trees inside from UF.

No way either team scores 70+ points in this game. Deliberate halfcourt game by GU stifles UNC

Georgetown +3.5: I expect a very close game here and as such will take a good amount of points.

Oregon +7.5: Florida may have won a lot of postseason games in a row, but they have not covered in their last two games and this line is too high. Oregon has played very well against good teams and they should keep this one close.

OK. I'll give this a shot:

Florida -7.5: Florida is the champ and should be smelling blood. They've put on an impressive run here at the end and should hammer a talented but somewhat uncommitted Oregon team.

Georgetown +3.5: The Hoyas had an unfocused effort on Friday night but will not be the case in this game. GTown has the athletes to compete but will need a solid effort out of the front line in order to win. I think they get it a focused effort today after being fortunate to come away with a win on Friday.

Georgetown +3.5 Just taking the points. It is going to take a much better effort than last game for Georgetown to win this but the pressure is on UNC.

Indiana +1.5 Taking the points. Chicago is not that good on the road and Indiana is coming off a huge home win over Miami and should have plenty of coinfidence for this one.

I think both NCAA lines are extremely tight today, so I will go with a couple of NBA plays.

Bulls/Pacers Under 184: The Pacers have now gone Under in three straight games, with those contests producing only a combined 165, 162 and 162 points respectively! These teams did score 187 points the last time they met in this building, but Indiana was a much better team then, so you could shave some points off of that today. Now the Bulls have generally been an Over team on the road, but their offense had left them lately, as they are averaging only 91.0 points in their last five road games. Finally, the Under is 9-4 the last 13 times that Chicago was a favorite, as well as 11-2 the last 13 times Indiana was an underdog, so look for those trends to continue.

Golden State Warriors +4: All eyes will be on Kobe again tonight, but do not sell this Warriors team short. Golden State is making a serious playoff push, going 7-2 straight up in the last nine games, and more importantly from a gambling perspective, they are a scorching 9-1 against the spread in the last 10 contests! Conversely, even with all of Kobe’s exploits, the Lakers are still just 1-7-1 ATS in the last nine games. Finally, this has been a Visitors’ Series, with the road team going 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings including a perfect 3-0 this season.

Ok I have to at least try and get back close to positive territory here.

Florida -7.5 I got this earlier at a better line. 7.5 is a lot of points but Florida looks really good right now. Oregon has played extremely well but has yet to face anyone as big as Florida has inside. This will expose them.

Georgetown +3.5 The Hoyas were my outside team to make it to the final four and here they are, one game away. I think this team still has gas in the tank and can win this one outright.

                    GT/UNC under 140

I can't make up my mind on a side to take in this game so I'll play the total. It's hard for me to imagine this game being a shootout, I see the winner of this game in the 65 pt range.

(jokes on me, i think they went over midway through the second half, damn)

                    Chicago/Indiana over 184

Chicago averaging 101.5 ppg in division games.
Indiana averaging 98.7 ppg at home

The Warriors have been playin well as of late, but this is a determined Lakers team and they have finally got it rollin... I think Kobe's 50+ streak ends tonight, but barely... I think he'll have 35-40! Who knows with that guy... Warriors suck on the road as well... We'll go with the Kobe Bryant show to cover...

Lakers -4 - The Lakers are coming together after their awful stretch, and the winning should continue here.

Seattle +8.5 - San Antonio has destroyed Seattle twice this year, but they seem to be a little lax in the non-key games as the season wears on. After their important win over Detroit last game, they might let down a bit here on the road, and Seattle might fight hard to keep it close after their previous embarrassments.

                            Lakers -4 and over 222.

Got to give consideration to the fact that it's the only game left on the board. A contributing factor.

LAX playing much better with Luke Walton. GS, while improved, either shows up or doesn't on the road lately. If they don't, it could be a rout.

(Also, I have the opposite plays in the real world and these parlay picks of mine have been horrendous.)
