Dex, can you explain your reasoning behind your Bulls pick? I've been struggling all day to figure out why this line isn't about -7 for the Spurs and I just don't see it. The Bulls are going to struggle this year.

i actually think the bulls will be pretty good this year. rose is going to be on the level of chris paul and deron williams very soon. noah is coming into his own and miller is another good big man in the middle. deng should have a bounce back year and tyrus thomas is basically a younger version of shawn marion.

i like fading certain teams when playing back to back, and the spurs are one of them. over the last 3 years the spurs are 13-23 ats on back to back days. this is basically the same core team.

if thats not enough, consider the sharp money that has come in on the bulls with the line dropping from 4 to 2.5 yet 80% of the public is on the spurs

Noah, Deng, and Thomas have all underperformed. Thomas is nothing close to Marion, and even if he were, Marion is only could in a very certain type of team. When the Bulls NEED a basket, who do they go to? Use to be Gordon, with a Rose pick-and-roll as the second option. I'm trying hard to find the reason why this spread is only -2.5 but I just don't see it. I'm going large on the Spurs, and if I'm wrong you can expect my congratulations afterwards.

San Antonio Spurs -1.5 @ -140 (2 units)
I'm quite convinced that the Spurs are in the top two teams in the Western Confernece and possibly top 3 in the league. However, Chicago was a covering machine and played very well at home in the second half of last season. Once again, the Spurs have depth and will not have a problem willing in Chicago unless key playerssss in their team get ejected. There are massive mismatches here. I know the public is on them, however, I just feel it is the right play.


Spurs/Bulls Total U193 (1 unit)
Spurs are a defensive unit and I think both teams will score under 100 each.




I am definitely liking the Bulls tomorrow though, Will have a play on the late game later!

noah has had a big preseason, and he could be on the verge of a bustout. i'm not a big fan of deng, but hes a decent player. shawn marion was a great player when with nash. he's not the kind of player that can create shots for himself - his game was around the basket on offensive boards and getting easy dunk/wide open 3's from nash.

tyrus thomas is just 23 years old. this year he should finally get 30mpg, so lets see what he can do. he can do everything marion can do from being a big man that can hit the glass, to block, and steal (what made marion so unique).

i truly think that it will be derrick rose when the bulls need a big shot, though john salmons is a really nice player who i forgot to mention before. i like his game. lets see if rose has improved his J - if he has, that makes the Bulls at least +5 games better.

Fri 10/30:

(3x) cavs -11.5 - have to give the cavs one more shot here to get on track versus one of the worst teams in the league. the sucker bet of the century - had to play it being that the cavs lost me money twice this week. 4-1 ats the last 5 in minny has me confident they will get right tomorrow night.

(2x) thunder +6 - the thunder will be a team on the rise is 2009-2010 with the emergence of westbrook, durant and green. another close meeting like last years 2 point loss in the palace should be expected. the sharps have hit this game early as well with 60% of the public on det yet the line has dropped a point.

(2x) jazz -9.5 - utah lost its opening game and tonight should get back on track in salt lake vs a clipper team they have doiminated (5-0 ats) the last 5 home games. those games had avg lines of utah -12 - tonight we get a bargain simply because baron davis is playing.

good call dex on the bulls, i knew the spurs were a sucker bet, and i had made it sound good to myself while disregarding the bulls and what they did last year at home.

cavs have a good shot tomorrow catching minny off the emotional high of the season opener. might throw it down, might not. i've sucked ass so far in the nba, might let a few days go by and try to get a feel for what's going on.

Anybody liking OKC tomorrow in Detroit? I like them to cover. Westbrook, Green and Durant were sensational last game, even though they played against Sacramento. Detroit didn't look too flash hot against Memphis.

3 Plays for me today

Oklahoma City +5 = The Oklahoma City Thunder are going to be one of the most improved teams in the league this year. I expect them to win this game outright let alone getting 5 points. This line started out at 6 and the public is all over the Pistons.

Toronto vs Memphis u195 = Toronto will be riding high after their win against the Cavaliers. I don't see Toronto coming into this game with intensity and focus. This could spell trouble for them on the offensive end as they try to shoot to many low percentage shots. The Memphis Grizzlies are at home and are much improved on defense. I believe a lot of it is due to the Gay and Mayo trying out for Team USA.

Memphis +2.5 = Believe it or not Memphis actually has a decent basketball team even without AI playing. For many of the reasons above that I am taking the under I will be taking Memphis +2.5. Another thing to look at is all the public love on the Raptors, and the line has only moved half a point. I like the Raptors and think they are the superior team. Watch them come out flat and cost themselves the game with not being focused enough.

I'm just continuing the trend by both teams going over every time they meet.And the C's have added another offensive minded player in the likes of marquis daniels and rasheed,a big man who love to shoot those 3's.The bulls are a group of young core players who loves to run and you know what that means a fast pace game.And the bulls know they can't beat the celtics in a half court game.Look what happen to the bobcats they was blown not only they lack of offensive threat (which is so obvious),the bobcats play them the same play what the celtics want a half court style of play.So,in my analysis the celtics will be force to run here more playing time for house,daniels and rondo who also who loves to run and also can score.The Bulls know doubt that they will run,using the same style they've use in the playoffs that gave the celtics a hard time to advance in the 2nd round.These are only my thoughts for the game.Hope these inputs helps .
