Orlando really sucks right now.. Howard is playing amazing ball lately and over their last nine games the Magic are just 2-7... Orlando has lost three in a row and 25 of 39 since a 13-4 start to the season.

The Rockets are 15-3 against teams in the East and 7-1 against Southeast Division opponents

Magic are 6-13 vs teams with winning records
Rockets 23-6 vs teams with losing records

West vs East baby....

The lines makers baffle me again. The Rockets were a five point favorite against Atlanta, now they're only a two point favorite against Orlando which is a better/more experienced team. I don't get it.

I don't follow. If Orlando is a better/more experienced team, shouldn't Houston thus be less of a favorite over them than over Atlanta?

It's an interesting betting situation. Orlando is not at all necessarily much, or even a little, better than Atlanta right now. Orlando's hot start has made their season-long record a bit misleading; they are actually only 14-25 in their last 39. And Atlanta has been gelling and playing respectably of late, in a way that Orlando notably has not.

Still, I'm on Orlando in this game, I think they'll bounce back with an inconsistent but effective game here. Houston is a tougher than normal road team though. Both will be looking to clamp down on D. Should be a fun game to watch if you have an appreciation for these kinds of defense-oriented NBA teams.

Nice call IMGV, good eye for seeing that Orlando is in a bad way right now, underachieving, and not currently able to get over on a capable team like Houston. They may turn it around at some point in March, let's watch for signs of that.
