Basketball Parlay of the Day - Saturday, 2/10/07
Post your 2 best basketball plays each day, NBA and CBB full-game Sides & Totals allowed only, no halves. Same game Side/Total parlays are ok.

All parlays will be graded as 10.00 to win 26.00, and I will do the standings for the month of February at least.

The Catch: You must have SOME ANALYSIS for each play. Only needs to be one sentence, no big deal, although full paragraphs are ok too. Plays submitted with no analysis will NOT COUNT toward standings.

im going all MVC for today

southern IL: -3.5: This is probably one of the biggest college b-ball rivalries that no one knows about, and its an exciting one. Southern Illinois has shown they are the elite in the MVC and while creighton has rebounded from a shaky early season I dont believe they have enought to keep it this close at Carbondale.

Northern Iowa +1.5: Northern Iowa is coming off an inexplicable loss at home to MVC bottom feeder Drake, and I dont think they will make it two home conference losses in a row...i mean cmon only horrible teams like Duke lose two conference home games in a row....haha

I've lost two in a row, so I'll change things up and predict the scores today.

      Delaware +20.5
Well, at this point in the season, you aren't going to find many lines with more than a point or two of value, but I think this is one. Drexel is coming in off an emotional comeback revenge win at Hofstra, and while they are going to beat Delaware, I don't think it will be this badly. The Blue Hens have been playing a little better - they're coming off a win themselves - and they kept it close in the first meeting. Drexel isn't explosive enough to make this a total rout.
      Drexel 73, Delaware 59

      Wright State +4
I don't expect the points to matter here, but in what is certain to be a very low scoring game, they could. Butler is getting a lot of press, but the fact of the matter is they haven't been great on the road against quality opponents. In games where they have been road favorites against quality opposition, they are 2-2 SU and ATS, but one of the covers was an OT 4-point win as a 3.5 point favorite. Wright State has been playing almost as well as Butler, winning six in a row, 9 out of 10, and 14 out of 16. They have won eight consecutive home games, seven by double digits. They haven't lost a home game by 4 points this season. In their other revenge game, there was a 30-point swing (lost by 4 at Milwaukee, won by 26 at home). I think they get their revenge here.
      Wright State 58, Butler 53

      Good luck everybody!

Air Force -2.5 over New Mexico

Air Force hasn't lost 2 in a row all year, and I don't expect it to happen tonight. New Mexico keeps it close, but Air Force pulls away late.

        Houston -15.5 over East Carolina

Unless you've seen East Carolina play you can't have a grasp on how bad they actually are. Houston's laying alot of points but when you're going up against a team that hasn't won a D1 game since Nov. 18 it's to be expected.

TEXAS A&M -6.5: Now we are not in the habit of giving this many points on the road, but we feel that Texas A&M is a good darkhorse candidate to win the national title, and the Aggies could open a lot of eyes with an authoritative road win here. A&M is 20-3 on the season, with two of the losses being by three points at UCLA and by two points at Texas Tech. Nebraska lost its last home game by 10 points to Kansas, the same Kansas team that the Aggies upset on the road last Saturday.

GRIZZLIES/HORNETS UNDER 203: Memphis games have not been as high-scoring lately as right after its coaching change, yet the oddsmakers appear to be rather slow to catch on. The UNDER is 4-1 in the last five Grizzlies games overall including 3-0 in the last three. The UNDER is also 15-11 in all New Orleans home games this season with an average combined total score in those contests of just 184.8 points, about 18 points less than this posted total!

OleMiss -5 OleMiss has been virtually unbeatable at home all season going 12-1 with that one loss to Kentucky. While almost all of Bama's loses have come on the road. Plus I think Bama is on thier way out of the top 25 after this game. Look for OleMiss to cover easily in this one.

Hawaii -10 I like Hawaii to cover here in this one they really play teams tough at home going 10-3. L. Tech is just an awful team in my opinion especially on the road going 2-12 and getting blown by an average of like 12 or so.

Watch out for the home teams today.........

Back to the pros again today

Hornets -7.5. Look for an emotionally and physically tired Grizzly squad to show little here after a huge win in OT at home last night against the T'wolves. The Hornets rested yesterday and should be ready for this one.
              NO-101 Memphis-85

Nets -4.5. Look for Magic to come a little flat here after beating the Spurs in Orlando last night. This is also a long trip up the East Coast. Look for the Magic to be tired late, and the Nets to pull away in the 4th quarter.
              Nets 91 Magic 79

New Jersey Nets -5: Orlando beat San Antonio last night, but they should have trouble with New Jersey tonight. The Nets will look for revenge after losing at Orlando last month. Despite the upset win last night, Orlando has not been playing well (4-11 last 15 games).

Detroit Pistons -7: Toronto beat the Lakers last night, and has won 5 in a row and 8/10 games, but that streak should end tonight against a Pistons team that's playing very well. Detroit has also won 5 in a row and 8/10 and has last night off, they should be ready and motivated tonight.

u183 @ HOU There was some 186 around last night -- which is better, obviously. Still worth a try at 183. Bobbers went over last night only thanks to overtime, now travel to play team that routinely clamps opponents under 90 at home. Rockets typically follow a loss with a stellar effort on D. Blowout in the 97-73 mode a decent possibility.

u206.5 @ SEA Sacto has cracked 206 in only 3 of last 13. Sonics unable to string much together all year. Recent SEA offensive efforts after a win: 98, 88, 101, 99, 112 (loss to Denver), 76.

Wright State +4 Too much emphasis on Butler. Wright has been having a very good year of their own. I'll take the points, thank you.

Memphis +8 New Orleans is a low scoring team most of the time and asking them to cover eight points against the Grizzlies when they might only score 90 is asking too much. (I'm throwing a bit on the under also.)
