FWIW - The regular season Offensive and Defensive Rankings below are based on easily available objective team data (eg. scoring. field goal percentage, efficiency, etc.), although the variables used in the ranking process are weighted through a highly subjective manipulation (which stats I think are more important than others). The Power Rankings, on the other hand, is based on strictly objective data, where only the selection of variables considered is down to a subjective (ie. debatable) process.
Perhaps most “debatable” is my inclusion of data on a team’s results against over .500 teams (eg. win/loss record, points scored, points allowed, etc.); however, since the inauguration of the “Play-in” tournament, truly awful teams with records padded by wins against other bad teams has made overall win/loss records alone essentially meaningless in any attempt at true power determinations and ranking. So, although some of my nerdy friends think otherwise, these are my rankings and that’s that. LOL.
