I love watching these old classic games. Just a few observations:
*Bird was lame in this game. Didn't score efficiently and not good defensively.
Series was really about the inside game:
1) You have to bow down to the great Kareem. At 40 yrs old, he was still thriving. He wasn't on fumes at all. Pressured opponent, such that they have to figure out how to use all their fouls.
2) I can't believe McHale played thru a broken foot in this playoffs. He was still very effective. Doctor told him to not play, advised him to shut it down til next year. Supposedly, still limps from that injury.
3) Heinsohn made one very astute point. KC Jones made an error giving Walton key minutes. Walton was on fumes. Those minutes should have gone to Greg Kite, who was younger, healthy, and much more fluid.
