They were too young. Nothing more to it/ nothing to see here. Shaq ballooned into a monster his 2nd year in LA -hit the weights for the first time in his life. Penny got injuries which killed his career.

I remember Hardaway putting up successive 40pt games in the 1st round vs the HEAT. That was quite an accomplishment back then. Nowadays almost anyone can do it.
