Poor Kobe and his daughter and the other families going down in the chopper is really a travesty -- mechanical error? pilot heart attack? (did he have a back up pilot?) The fastest an object can fall is 122 miles per hour, and it might take a while to get to that speed, but the chopper was going over 180 miles per hour at the time of impact, and wasn't flying too high before falling, so apparently the strength of the blades and force of the engines were flying the chopper right into the ground at or near the time of impact. So tragic. So awful :-(
