Teams are averaging 110ppg this season -up 5pts from last season. It's become unwatchable scoring with ease, wide open shots and dunk almost every time down. If someone dares to contest a shot the player jumps into him and gets freebies.

Watching the Hornets/ Wiz now because I have money on it. Crap team looking like a juggernaut. Commentators gushing about an offensive player that is getting spoon fed anything he wants. Awful stuff.

Had the Hornets ATS. Looks like I'll get the cover. Hornets trying so hard to defend all game within the stupid rules.. did they succeed? Did they penetrate. Beal tired himself out on all those wide open shots

My bet won. I still don't like it. It's been an ongoing thing all season. Disappointing thing is the masses don't seem to mind. When someone hits a shot it makes people happy.

Saw a great defensive play by Leonard just now; a clean strip of Derozan for a dunk. Amazed the ref didn't blow his whistle. Derozan naturally let said ref have it right after the play.

It's why home teams are 52.4% at home this season ATS. Takes defense to win on the road.

apparently it is what the casual fan enjoys. all sports willing to bend the rules and even change them for more offense. their studies say more offense=more ratings=more money. i dislike the changes in football much more, but as always, players will adjust.

It's what it is today. I still get into it but it's a different game today. Nothing like the old games on Hardwood Classics like the 90's Bulls that killed everyone on both ends of the floor. Or the tough as nails Knick's even though they never had any success in The Finals. Those are the best years for hard nose basketball.

after the huge contracts silver sent out a memo and asked and encouraged teams to play more uptempo to try and make the nba more exciting to bring in even more fans the players dont mind since theyre getting the huge contracts and bigger audiences will guarantee that the huge contracts will continue

I'm not harking back to the old days, I'm talking about the difference of a single year! 5pts more per team per game -a huge jump. The game is ruined. It's more glaring to me whenever I come back from watching the FIBA qualifiers or some Euro basketball event.

It's amazing how much sway the guy has.

I also think it's a poor strategy. Yes you please the dilettante fans but is that worth the price of driving off the hardcore fans? Maybe the hardcore fans will be turned away in disgust and, in time, the dilettantes find something else to be temporarily amused by.

Such a dominant story line on the season. I'm sure there's a sharp insider blog somewhere chronicling this but mainstream media is just feeding on it like a dumb pig at a troff. Nuggets are the team that has benefitted the most from the new game, I think.

I think good from a gambling standpoint. More volatility and keeps everyone on their toes
