Sixers Already Preparing For Markelle Fultz

Markelle Fultz is regarded by many most as the consensus No. 1 overall player in the upcoming NBA Draft. There was little chance that he’d get past No. 1 let alone No. 2 to fall into the lap of the Philadelphia Sixers, who hold the No. 3 pick.

But with all the recent buzz of the 76ers moving up to acquire the first pick from the Boston Celtics, the club may be gearing up for Fultz — notably Joel Embiid and Dario Saric, who already have the guard’s name pasted on a locker.

NBA Draft prospect Markelle Fultz will work out for the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night and will speak to the media afterward, according to Marc J. Spears of ESPN.com.

The 76ers have reportedly been talking to the Boston Celtics about the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, and Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical says that Fultz’s visit with Philadelphia on Saturday could be one of the final steps of the deal.

The Sixers currently own the No. 3 overall selection, and Wojnarowski says that the potential trade would include that pick, next year’s Los Angeles Lakers first-rounder (which the 76ers own) and possibly a 2021 first-round selection.

Should the 76ers and Celtics complete a deal, Philadelphia could draft Fultz and add him to its stable of young talent that already includes big man Joel Embiid and versatile forward Ben Simmons.
