There has been talk in the past, esp The Knicks. Does anyone have a strong opinion either way about his future?
Is Lebron James closer to leaving Cleveland and join a higher profile Market?

#3In reality, Cleveland is not that special of a city, similar to Indy in some ways (Others as well). Very boring for a guy with such special skills and marketing ability.Comment -

#5I believe he has it in his contract with Nike if he goes to LA, New York, and somewhere else he makes like an extra 100 million out of the deal or something crazy like that. This could just be something I got told by someone who didn't know what they where talking about, but I swear I remember reading an article about it.Comment -

#11I think Lebron wants to build a brand image much like Jordan with his line with Nike. IF the rumors are true about some Chinese investors buying into the Cavs, that will help LEbron build his brand abroad and might help him stay in Cleveland. What does LEbron gain by going to New York. I know New York is the top market but it not like Cavs games aren't being broadcast now. Lebron is still getting tons of edorsement playing in a small market.
Money talks, and bullshit walks. But at some point one might need to make a lifestyle choice. LEbron is the biggest name in Cleveland, and he would be a big star in New York, but he wont always be the top star.Comment -

Next year Boston will have a healthy KG back in the lineup, Orlando will be even stronger, Lakerland should improve with Bynum settling back into the lineup, Portland/Houston will also be good contenders. Not to mention those Denver Thuggets.
Cleveland will NOT win a title if they do not pull it off this season. This is their big shot, and so far they are being thrown around from the blue crew up in Florida.Comment -

#14Agreed with the Asian Marketing comment. He has already stated he wants to be the first Billionaire athlete. And I think the being marketed all over Asia would help him more than moving to NY ever would. However LA does seem interesting to say the very least.Comment -

#17If he goes to NY the minimum tickets will be $100 on the upper levels and every game will be sold out forever. The buzz in NY would be unreal. He would become the biggest thing ever to hit NY.Comment -

#21That would be to sick to even put into words. You couldn't double team either of them or you would be SOL. I was playing franchise mode in NBA 2k9 he signed with Dwayne Wade and the Miami Heat which I guess could actually happen that would be a sick combo as well.Comment -

#22All NY teams seem to be in the running whenever a great player from a small market hints at leaving. Lebron owns Cleveland. As huge as he would be in NY, I don't think his demeanor or lifestyle make him a good fit there. I know he is friends with CC Sabathia, but if I were him, I would finish my career in Cleveland, run for mayor 20 years from now and name a bunch of streets after himself.Comment -

#26It'll be a sad day when he leaves the Cavs. Even though they're probably all money grabbing mercenaries - it's a refreshing change to see a player have a genuine attachment to the team they play for (same with Billups and Denver).Comment -

#27Yeah I could see him leaving the cavs, it's sad too because he means a lot to those people in ohio, but if he doesn't get any help from the front office he might be tempted to leave to pursue a ring. I could see him going to the knicks but not the lakers. Kobe's a little bit more mature now but his disputes with, and ostracizing of teammates in the past hurts him in a situation like this in my opinion. It would be really sick though to see lb and kobe on the same team, or lb and dwade like someone else said.Comment -

#31Two superstar in one team is a recipe for disaster, both guys will have ego problems. Won't work. Just ask the Yankees with their allstar crew. They bought virtually every Allstar player from another team, yet they have zero championships to show for it.Comment -

Let's not forget a recent superbowl win.
Yankees up 10-0 right now. They got off to a slow start this season, big deal. (I mean they are an entirely different team this year and need to settle in, but keep hating on the best City in America)
