    Professor MJ's daily NBA projections
Hello fellow NBA fans from around the world!

The All-Star break is over. The trade deadline is over. Let’s get to the final stretch of the regular season! Here are today’s projections on this special day for me: my birthday!!

    Kings +7 +4.5 +273 +180
    Tip: Bet the Kings.

    “GREAT BET” (4 stars / 5):

According to the statistical models and my own judgement, Sacramento is an awesome bet. However, I must admit I’m not overly confident about this one. How much does the trade of DeMarcus Cousins affect the Kings? Of course, it’s a huge deal and they are definitely weaker than they were before. I lowered their chances of winning this game by 20%, which makes my projections to be Denver -180 Sacramento +180. Pinnacle has the Kings at +273 so I feel like I have to take them! The public has been betting 50%-50% on each team so far.

“PROCEED WITH CAUTION” BET (1 star / 5):

Again the effects of a trade make it a bit difficult to assess each team’s chances of winning, although it’s not nearly as big of an impact as the Cousins trade. Orlando traded their second highest scorer Ibake in exchange for Terrence Ross from Toronto. I like the Magic at +129 (spread +2.5) and seeing 72% of the money going on the Blazers, it comforts me a little bit more (since I’m a contrarian). Almost rated it as 2 stars.

Have a great Thursday everyone and thanks again for reading!!

are you a big nba fan? if so, the combo of you being an analytics expert and understanding the league could be really potent

I'm actually more of an NHL and NFL fan (and junior hockey), but I do follow the NBA and MLB as well.
