Decides the obvious home court advantage Boston has (which means a TON in the NBA), the Celtics hold many other advantages over the Magic. First of all, Dwight Howard is over hyped and is able to be contained (not stopped completely, but contained), which is just fine when he is the center of Orlando's team. The Celtics have shown in the last series they are able to keep up with a fast paced, offensive minded team like the Bulls (although that is not when they thrive, but shows they have the energy if need be). Although this is cliche, "you live and DIE by the three". Boston certainly knows how to defend, even with Kevin Garnett out of the lineup.
We have also seen Orlando BLOW MANY leads in their series with 76ers (I believe they only covered the spread once in the entire series, that goes to show you they were barely pulling wins out). If one team can come back from being down double digits late in the game, it is the Boston Celtics, and one of those comebacks was with their star shooter (Ray Ray) on the bench with six fouls. The 76ers overcame a double digit defecit to beat Orlando IN Orlando. The Magic do not play good with the lead and I expect them not to be able to hold one on Boston for more than a few minutes. The Orlando Magic are not mentally strong enough to make it to the finals and will not.
Decides that, Boston has too many weapons for the Magic to handle. Big Baby Davis was playing like an Allen Iverson in his prime, diving for balls and flying in the paint for layups to be put up. Perkins and Davis should be able to contain Dwight Howard big time, while Ray Allen and Paul Pierce defend the perimeter and make life very difficult for the long-range shooting....Orlando Magic team. All this and I didn't even mention Rajon Rando, has anyone here seen him play? Half the steals were initiated from him poking the ball away or being a major pest to whoever had possession of the ball on the opposing team at that moment.
I love Boston in this series, and to come out with a bang tonight and beat Orlando by at least 7 points up in Boston.
