I've re-thought my stance on trading Westbrook.

He is going to be a free agent next year. Why would a team give up picks when they could just wait a year and sign him? I could really only see the following teams try to obtain him.

    East

Boston - They could offer Oklahoma State grad Marcus Smart and a draft pick but they already have Thomas.
Atlanta - Are they really contenders this year? Does getting Westbrook do anything for them?

    West

La Clippers - They could offer an aging Chris Paul and Oklahoma native Blake Griffin but would that really improve their team? What else do they have to offer?

Why would the Lakers give up players and picks when they aren't even going to make the playoffs? The Knicks don't need a PG now either.

OKC isn't a contender anymore but they are still a playoff team with a Westbrook?Oladipo backcourt and with Adams/Kanter in the paint. Then if you through in Waiters on the wing you're still solid. I'm not sure I would panic and blow everything up just yet even if you only have Westbrook for a year. I kind of want to see what he can do now anyway.

if i were him i would think about the spurs next season ...........
a core of him, LA, and leonard is pretty good
im sure the old big three would have no issues coming off the bench ..........

If he wants out of OKC, why would he want to goto the Spurs?

Do you really see him and Pop making things work?

If he is about winning he could goto the Clippers or Celtics. It would make more sense to me.

BigDofBA......your logic doesn't count. These players think differently than a normal human being. They think two things, either money or rings. Stop trying to reason it out for westbrook. If he think rings, he might go to the Spurs and boom we have 3 super NBA team. Warriors, Spurs & Cleveland.
Lakers will be glad to give up much right now for him. They need that one superstar to be able to make pitch for others.

Westbrook isn't going anywhere. With Durant shamelessly gone, Westbrook is next season's defacto regular season MVP.

They could be good if that happened. They won't win a title or compete but playing like that might get them a 5 seed.
