Jerry West won it back in 1969(first year they gave out the award). He played very consistently throughout the entire finals though.

It does seem like it would be awkward to present a player from the losing team with the MVP award while the winning team is celebrating with the championship trophy.

Should have won it last season so I think they might give it to him as a feel good kinda of a combination from last yr & this yr
