    Hornets-Nuggets G5
    Hornets at Nuggets Game 5:
    Spread: 10.5-11
    Total: 197.5

My first impressions are that this will be another beatdown, not a 58 point beatdown, but you never know...Thus Nuggets ATS is the play here, and I'm gonna jump on it. What do you guys think?

New Orleans is dead. They are not playing with 10% as much fire as Denver is. If Denver gets even a little momentum they go off like theres no tomorrow. I think Denver will play another lights out game and put New Orleans out of their misery. Im a HUGE Lakers fan and I have to say, Im pretty scared about my boys playin the Nugs if they keep playing like this. They are on FIRE!!! Put the shades on! I will for sure be playin Denver 1Q and 1H bigger than the whole game.

Really, what will the Hornets will be playing for? This is Dallas/SPurs deja vu all over again, where one team has the clear edge over the other.

Frostno I dont know if you went back to that thread we were chatting in but I ended up taking Portland tonight instead of Houston! Its just too tough to play there so I had to pull the trigger on them. but I feel Houston will take of business back in Texas.

How about Denver Team Total OVER 104?

I'm debating on whether to take the half spread, fulltime spread, team total, or all three.

Maybe diversifying the portfolio would be smarter.

last time a team won by 58 in the playoffs, the opposing team won the next game.

                i'm betting denver anyways.

All I know is when a team is this hot you ride them till the wheels fall off. Im gonna ride them all the way through the playoffs!!! Lol. 1Q and 1H lines arent out yet but I might buy the full game spread down to 9.5 and play it right now. Hmmmm...

It's all about consistency. Denver's been pretty consistent and I haven't really seen a major let down by them, even in their lost. I think Chris Paul is exhausted, and feels helpless with all this triple team he's getting. I don't expect him to give everything he's got, since everyone else on his team pretty much quit.

Denver is clearly the superior team and it's not close. Hornets don't have any pride whatsoever. They just got absolutely demolished at home by 58 points. I didn't think it was possible to lose by that much, especially at home. Billups has this team rolling and I don't see the Hornets putting up a fight tomorrow. Game 5 will be similar to the previous games in this series. Nuggets FTW!

New Orleans cannot score, it has been their problem all year long.

This series is over. Hornets have tossed in the towel like Detroit and SAS did.

When teams get blown out the way the Hornets did, whatever talent exists within the team will come out in their next game.

The Hornets are the right side in this game ESPECIALLY in the 1st quarter and the 1st half.

Didn't happen for Detroit, Utah or San Antonio. It's a myth, Denver is so much better and so hot right now that no way are the Hornets the play in any part of the game.

I don't see any 58 point beatings in any of the series you mentioned.

Also, you can't compare a series like Detroit/Cleveland and Utah/Lakers to Denver/New Orleans.

New Orleans is going to come out with everything they have and will be crashing the boards in the 1st quarter. I am very confident that New Orleans will not only cover the 1st quarter spread (figures to be around 3) but will win the quarter outright and will be betting accordingly.

I'm not sure the intensity they are going to show in the 1st quarter can last the entire game so my largest wager will be New Orleans in the 1st quarter.

However, I would NOT be surprised in the slightest if New Orleans wins the game outright.

Imho DEN ATS and UNDER 1st half only are the bets of choice in this game.

This game is all about giving the Hornets not a sliver of hope, closing the door and then slip into cruising mode. There's no point in crushing an opponent like they did in G4 and then give him a hand to get up again. The Nuggets will be prepared for NOH to come out strong and start accordingly. Come halftime, the game and series will be in DEN's pocket, if the Hornets surprisingly manage to hang on it'll take as long as mid 3rd.
But DEN won't humiliate NOH twice in a row. It's just sort of a gentlemen's agreement in professional sports. There was a point in DEN crushing NOH like they did in G4 to set the tone for G5, but now they'll go for the early kill and then let the Hornets keep their face.

``In a strange sort of way, being up by that much is kind of embarrassing for the team that's up sometimes,' Billups' said Tuesday, 12 hours after the Nuggets' 121-63 shellacking of the Hornets. ``Only because, you play the game with integrity and you don't want to show anybody up. But at the same time you want to play hard and you want to compete.
``It was an embarrassing thing to go through, but I thought the guys were very professional and just kept playing. There wasn't no (trash) talk or rubbing it in. It was just playing hard.'

The series won, George Karl will have no reason at all to risk a starter to achieve a meaningless blowout, while NOH on the other hand has no reason to rest them ( they'll get plenty of rest after this game ) but every cause to at least partly redeem themselves for their embarassing performance in G4. So it'll be DEN's bench vs NOH's starters for about 1/3rd of the game, with no defense played...

That's why I'm not liking the spread and the under for the whole game.

Take the Hornets for having their hearts questioned. 11 points is too much. No way Hornets lose by DD.

Hornets by spread. Hard to see them winning outright, but Denver won't take them seriously tonight and would probably let them go on a run or something at the end that would cover the spread.

                                                    Hornets will win outright
I can understand where your coming from, a good example would be the Heat in game 1 to game 2. Heat came out stronger the second game and won outright, but the Heat and Hawks are more evenly matched than the Nuggets and Hornets.

The Hornets will have to play over the top defense to win this game because they just can't keep up scoring wise.

Hornets will keep the first quarter close, but that's it.

I dont think ol Karl is gonna lettem "not take this game seriously". These arent the cocky lakers that let up and give up dd leads in the 2h. Denver has played strong every minute of their games. Im surprised the line is not -1,000,000!!!!

The Hornets just want to go home. They're beat up and ready for the summer, just like Detroit and the Spurs. The series ends tonight.
