This is what's wrong with the NBA
I'm watching Charlotte-Denver. Nuggets go up 95-85 with 4:16 left. There is now 11 seconds left, and they haven't scored since. It's now 95-92.

Here are the shots they've taken. FIVE jump shots from 22 feet out or more, protecting a lead in the closing four minutes. Unreal.

The collective stupidity of this league continues to be mind boggling.

3:51 Cody Zeller misses shot 85-95
3:51 85-95 Will Barton defensive rebound
3:43 85-95 Danilo Gallinari misses 25-foot three point jumper
3:42 Hornets defensive team rebound 85-95
3:42 85-95 Darrell Arthur enters the game for Jusuf Nurkic
3:23 Jeremy Lamb misses shot 85-95
3:21 85-95 Darrell Arthur defensive rebound
3:02 85-95 Emmanuel Mudiay misses 24-foot three point jumper
3:01 85-95 Will Barton offensive rebound
2:40 85-95 Danilo Gallinari misses 22-foot step back jumpshot
2:39 Hornets defensive team rebound 85-95
    2:39 Hornets Full timeout
2:28 Nicolas Batum misses 25-foot three point jumper 85-95
2:25 Kemba Walker offensive rebound 85-95
2:18 Jeremy Lamb misses 24-foot three point jumper 85-95
2:18 Cody Zeller offensive rebound 85-95
2:08 Kemba Walker makes driving layup 87-95
1:57 87-95 Darrell Arthur offensive foul (Kemba Walker draws the foul)
    1:57 87-95 Darrell Arthur turnover
1:47 87-95 Gary Harris shooting foul (Cody Zeller draws the foul)
1:47 Cody Zeller makes free throw 1 of 2 88-95
1:47 Cody Zeller makes free throw 2 of 2 89-95
1:22 89-95 Danilo Gallinari misses 26-foot three point jumper
1:21 Jeremy Lamb defensive rebound 89-95
1:12 Kemba Walker misses 15-foot step back jumpshot 89-95
1:10 89-95 Danilo Gallinari defensive rebound
0:52 89-95 Gary Harris misses 23-foot three point jumper
0:50 Kemba Walker defensive rebound 89-95
0:45 Marvin Williams makes 24-foot three point jumper (Kemba Walker assists) 92-95
    0:45 Nuggets Full timeout

Bad teams almost always find ways to choke away leads.

Who is their coach? An empty chair?

Edit: I see it's the Malone dude. So basically, the answer is yes.

The problem with NBA right now is that 10-15 teams typically score ~15-20 pts in the 4Qs of tight games. It is just mind boggling. I posted a thread on Lakers-Jazz a few minutes ago. That game is also a fine example of why most NBA games are unwatchable.

What do you mean? I've been watching that game for the entire second half basically.

I'm not "crying" about anything. I had no bet on this game.

With Lawson gone & Nelson being old & broken, the Nuggets have almost zero penetration.
Gallo sometimes drives the lane but he's slow as fukc...

Probably a result of these kids growing up and watching Kobe & Dirker make the turn around fade aways look so easy.
Now every guard & SF thinks they can hit contested 22 footers whenever they please...

This happens because teams protecting leads elect to use as much clock as possible & don't start the offense until 7-8 sec left on shot clock. Defenses clamp down desperately late in the clock when trailing & only look is off balance 22-footer with a hand in the face as shot clock expires. That's the mentality of literally every single team in the league & there aren't enough come from behind losses possible to change it.
If teams would continue to attack earlier in the shot clock instead of worrying about using UP 20-24 sec because they r ahead they might get a better look every once in a while.
