Why are the Pelicans so bad?

They have a franchise center in Anthony Davis and they have a back court with Evans, Holiday and Gordon. They fired the coach from last year and got worse. Are they title contenders? Probably not, but they shouldn't be the worse team in the west outside of the Lakers.

It has to be Gentry. Almost at half time and Davis has 3 shot attempts. Has 4 points with 2 points coming from the free throw line. This dude should be taking 25-30 shots a game.

Through 3 quarters Davis and Gordon are 6 out of 22. With the kind of money they are getting you would think they could make more than 6 shots combined. It's not like the Suns play defense.

No way the Pelicans keep Gentry for another year. When you got a MVP caliber player like AD, you have to be competing for a playoff spot. Not battling LA and Philly for rights to the top pick in the draft.
