Portland is -5 today, which is indicating to me that this will be a close game. I belive that this game will not be a blowout tonight as Houston is just too good defensively to get blown out by a team of the Blazers caliber. Considering that Portland is one of the best 2nd half home teams, I think that Houston will go all out in the 1st half to give themselves a chance to win this game. Portland is very average in the 1st half (14th best 1st half team) and the Rockets are the 4th best 1st half team. Houston is 3-0 ATS 1st half this year vs Portland.

Rockets 1st half +2.5 and I will immediately follow that bet up with Blazers 2nd half -whatever if I cash the 1st half.

Houston is a lot better 1st quarter team than Portland. 62% to 50%. Thats actually the one quarter that Houston has the biggest advantage against Portland stats wise. I honestly don't hit a good % of 1st quarter bets. I hit my first one in a while ( I haven't bet them at all lately) today with the Spurs 1st quarter -1. I was VERY surprised that nobody really talked about this bet considering how good they are in the 1st qtr lately.

I will highly consider taking Blazers 3rd quarter depending on the score. Appreciate the input Kingbookie. I don't really like the blazers for the game. On first glance I loved the Blazers but the Rockets really own the blazers. They beat them 2 out of 3 times this year and the one loss was by 2 points @ portland. Houston is 5-1 last 6 games against Portland.

I was about to buy in to the "portland is to young and inexperienced to beat the veteran rockets", until I realized that houston has lost 7 straight playoff series. Ill take the youth over the losers anyday.

Portland hasn't even made the playoffs the last 5 years and prior to that they lost 3 straight 1st rounds also. That being said its a different Portland team but this Houston team is also a different team from past years.

Portland 2nd half is one of the best bets in basketball against the spread this year. Portland is the best 2nd half team @ home in the NBA. Rockets blow big leads all the time. Take Portland 2nd half.
