Clippers trade for Lance Stephenson

They're giving up Matt Barnes and Spencer Hawes for him. Lance has an awful contract based on his play last year but Spencer Hawes has an awful contract too. Lance has upside, I doubt Spencer Hawes does.

So by that logic, I'd say Doc made a good move.

Hawes is a soft big man. Can't defend the rim or rebound.

Good move for LAC. Got rid of a horrible Hawes contract and Barnes has been pretty bad and he's old. It's always worth it when you unload two scrubs for a player with the upside of Stephenson. It's low risk high reward.

Are they gonna use him off the bench though? Right now unless they make more moves he's probably starting at SF come opening night. There was talk about Paul Pierce opting out of his Wizards contract and signing for LAC. If he signs and plays at the level he played at this year, and they get at least some kind of a bounceback year from Lance, this could be a much better team than this year. It's all hypothetical though obviously.
