He has in the past, this time he took a 2 yr deal with an opt out clause because when the new CBA kicks in he can get paid like $40m per year. (no Idea the real number but it wasn't for pay cuts)

In theory Cavs should own Bird rights to most and I think LBJ expects Gilbert to pay a lot of luxury (and rightfully so).
