The guy is great on the defensive end but I have no idea why he tossed so many random running hook shots. He’s been doing it for two games now.
In game 4 he was 1 for 8 with many bad shot selections especially in the first quarter, but I guess since Rose hit the game winner nobody really looked into it.
During the game 5 loss, except for two assisted wide open dunks, Noah shot 2 for 10, the majority of which were contested running hook shots, even very polished post players like Tim Duncan don’t do that move often. A lot of times the ball hit the backboard, bounced off and didn’t even come close to hitting the rim. He was literally just giving possessions away to the other team.
He’s been doing this for two games now, I wonder what the coaches do in their routine film sessions. Aren’t they supposed to tell Noah to focus on defense and stop taking shots unless he is wide open under the basket? This is not the preseason, how many more games are they going to just let Noah toss random shots to find his shooting touch?
