    Seeding in 2nd round help!
    Hey guys,

Can you please help explain to me how this works...

I've seen on multiple forum posts that the Spurs and GS can only play in the West Conf Finals and if Memphis wins round 1 vs Portland and Spurs win vs LAC it will be GS/MEM in the 2nd round...

It makes no sense to me..

If lets say Dallas/Pelicans lose round 1.. wouldn't the Spurs be the "worst" team left at the 6 seed and play the Warriors #1 in the 2nd round?

Thanks in advance!! Really appreciate it.

Lol is simple first round is 1vs8 2vs7 3vs6 and 4vs5.

Second round is winner of 1vs8 face winner of 4vs5 and winner of 2vs7 face winner of 3vs6.

Interesting.. I've never noticed that before in the NBA haha, So its pretty much in Brackets from the start.

Cool.. I'm used to the NHL before they changed it last year.. which was always 1v8 and then reseed so #1 plays worst team left.

      Thanks!

Yeah thats why in the East the two best teams ( cavz & bulls) will meet in the 2nd round. Toronto has a good chance to reach conference finals beat wash with home court advantage then beat Atl.. decent enough chance.

Not necessarily. It's the McIntyre Final Eight system, and to determine the second round matchups, the highest ranked winner takes on the fourth highest ranked winner, and the second highest ranked winner takes on the third highest ranked winner. That means if 8th seed beats the 1st seed, and the remaining higher seeds win, 8th will take on 2nd and 3rd will take on 4th in the second round.
