I don't understand this whole resting Kobe thing...what does he need to be "preserved" for? The lakers aren't going anywhere this year. Let him roll until the wheels fall off and then move on in 2 years. Let him jack up as many shots as he wants and score as many points as he wants to move up the list. His contract wasn't an investment anyway, it was a reward for his career and now they are stuck paying him either way.
