The guy is 16 for 46 from the free throw line this season, the sample size might be small but his percentage is actually worse than Deandre Jordan. If I am a coach I would tell my players to foul him from the start of the game, if he goes 2 for 6 his coach has to take him out after 2 minutes into the game and that would significantly disrupt Mavs' game plan by taking out their floor general. It's particularly useful for a weak team cause if you let the Mavs play their usual game you won't have much of a chance to win anyway, so why not exploit this only weakness they have?

#2If you start fouling him at the beginning of the game two things happen, first you put your players in immediate foul trouble, and second the Mavs would be in the bonus very early in the game, so whenever a good foul shooter gets fouled, instead of taking the ball out of bounds, he's shooting free throws. I agree with the hack a Rondo approach later in the game, but to start doing it right from the start makes no senseComment
