I don't know how players can pick the Mavs. It's a new starting 5 which are typically poor in their first. It's good on paper and they could be good but youre right... that bench looks like its going to have a hard time playing at the same level. It looks like Spurs -3.5 is available and might get better.

A play to watch for IMO is a high scoring first half with the Spurs up 9 or more and then look at the under on the 2nd half total with a potential blowout. Oddsmakers will cut the halftime totals in half early in the season. The Spurs benches are good at holding the leads even in the 4ths.

Pretty much the same bench as last year minus Vince and Dejuan Blair. They still have Devin Harris who can play backup pg.

if he is playing, and is the primary back-up to Jameer Nelson (who sucks), then the PG situation is very grim in Dallas

The Mavs have a solid team and can compete with the Spurs this year, it make take alittle time to come together as a team, but this Mavs team is gonna be very good

yeah. i don't get about what all the fuss is about, dallas has basically a whole new starting lineup

only ellis and dirk started last season and while carlisle is a top 3 coach in the nba im pretty sure it will take some time for him to adjust rotations. if line drops to spurs -3.5 -105 im taking it.

I actually think the Mavs could win this one. They upgraded at PF (Parsons for Marion) and C (Chandler for Dalembert). Spurs are without three very important players, Leonard, Splitter and Mills. But it's hard to say this early in the season.

vince carter was their main scorer off the bench. devin harris is garbage, unless a lot has changed this offseason, also at least for tonight it will be devin harris starting if im not wrong.

mavs are a pretty decent team this year. not sure how they will matchup with the spurs though.
