They remind me of the Wizards before they got Nene. Pelicans have a ton of talent, but no one who has really won before. I think they are one or two veterans away from being a playoff team.

It's hard to really define "playoff team" though. To me it's more like they're "1 of the 8 playoff teams having a major injury" away from the playoffs.

The thing is it just so happens there are 8 elite teams in the west and that 8 teams make the playoffs.

If the pelicans can win 45-47 games I guess it would qualify as a step in the rightt direction though.

The Pelicans are a team that is building confidence gradually as this year goes on. The more good teams they beat, the better they are going to get. They've already beat the Spurs and Thunder and just destroyed Houston after beating them a few weeks earlier.

As Davis becomes more dominant, they will be tougher to beat. Jrue Holiday is a good player. He's in the perfect situation really. I think I saw Gordon is close to coming back but I'm not sure where he fits with this lineup.

The Pelicans are a team that could possibly have a strong homecourt advantage. They have another tough test on Monday with the Wizards. Washington is in need of a win after dropping a couple on this roadtrip but I lean Pelicans once again. I think they are really on the verge of going on a roll. They're certainly showing the signs.
